By empowering the IOGA Board of Directors and membership, we, along with our Governmental Affairs team, ensure that issues affecting the industry are addressed and resolved in a manner that benefits the industry.

Our mission…

The Illinois Oil & Gas Association was organized in 1946 to provide an agency through which oil and gas producers, landowners, royalty owners, and others who may be directly or indirectly affected by or interested in oil and gas development and production in Illinois, may protect, preserve and advance their common interests.

Committees

Conventions, Meetings & Events

This committee reviews and evaluates the Fall and Annual Meetings along with Golf Outing. They provide recommendations for future meetings including venue, programs, vendor exhibits, and entertainment. They consider, identify and recommend other events of a social, networking and training purpose. Meeting’s fees structure and sponsorship levels are approved by this committee. They meet during the Fall Meeting, Annual Meeting and other times as needed.

Awards

This committee makes recommendations for awards presented at the Annual Meeting for Petroleum Professional of the Year; Petroleum Professional Woman of the Year; Service Person of the Year; Lifetime Achievement; and Wildcatter of the Year. They also consider any further awards as may be appropriate. They meet on an annual basis before the Annual Meeting.

Legal & Legislative

This committee reviews and makes recommendations concerning support or opposition to proposed legislation and regulations. They research and consider the creation of a political action committee. They consider, organize and implement presentations of a legal and legislative nature at the Fall and Annual Meetings. Provide representation at Illinois Oil and Gas Advisory Committee meetings. They meet during the Fall Meeting, Annual Meeting and other times as needed.

Finance

This committee creates and proposes an investment policy and strategy. They also review and evaluate current financial reports along with review and comment on proposed budgets. They are in charge of evaluating all of IOGA’s existing assets and conduct an annual audit. All building and equipment maintenance is approved by the committee. They meet during the Fall Meeting, Annual Meeting and other times as needed.

Ad Valorem Tax

This committee meets with the County Assessors’ Committee on an annual basis to formulate the tax schedule for the following year.
